Climate Savvy Students are all Ears
Staff and students at Stafford College were all ears on Thursday November 26 when
they were presented with a state of the art digital radio. The gadget is part of their prize for winning the Stafford Green Awards 2009. The college’s success was announced at the Green Awards ceremony held in early November.
Stafford College won the OC3 Climate Change Champion award for the organisation that has done the most to raise awareness of climate change and helped staff and pupils to do their bit to reduce their carbon footprint.
The awards, organised by Stafford Borough Council, recognise the environmental achievements of businesses and organisations across the county.
The OC3 Climate Change Initiative, led by Staffordshire County Council and supported by organisations across Staffordshire, sponsored the award.
Staffordshire County Councillor Mike Maryon, Cabinet Member for Highways and Environment, said that winning the OC3 Climate Change Champion Award was a real coup for Stafford College.
“Staff and students at Stafford College have really worked hard to not only raise awareness of climate change but also to take action. Winning the OC3 award is real recognition of their achievements and they should feel very proud.”
